My most recent project has been to make a teddy bear. I got a pattern and fabric at a nearby fabric store. They didn't have a very large selection of fuzzy animal fabrics, and it turned out that my favourite was a cow-like pattern. No problem, I decided to make a cow bear!
The first step: Cutting the fabric. And shaking it out lots to stop the shedding!
I decided to hand stitch the bear. Somehow doing it all by hand made it feel like I was putting more of myself into it.
With only the front done and the eyes and nose attached, it already looks like a teddy bear!
It took way more time than I thought to do all of the hand stitching, but it was worth it.
That is some sewing worthy of Little House on the Prairie, if I say so myself! But "Little Apartment in the City" just doesn't have the same ring to it...
I used the filling from an old pillow for stuffing, sewed up the back, added a bow, and the cow bear was finished!
Ain't he a dapper little fellow?

A Cookie Jar!
Something that was lacking in our little home was a cookie jar. That was remedied last week with a find at MCC. And of course, I had to fill it with cookies!
Also, our little sunflower plant is blooming! So beautiful and cheerful.

A Week in the Life...
I have been thoroughly enjoying my "summer off". However, that does not seem a very fitting name for it, since I always have so much to do! Now that I'm not feeling as sick or tired as I was earlier in my pregnancy, it is nice to be able to work on some projects and do more around the house, especially since Jesse is really busy with work these days. Here is a peek at what I've been up to over the last week or so.
And there was so much else to enjoy too - an encouraging and uplifting Bible study with a couple friends, getting started on "mission declutter" around the apartment, finishing a painting that I started months ago, our weekly date night, and hanging out with friends.
We are very blessed, and I am so thankful! What are you thankful for?

I found strawberries for a good price, so I made two batches of jam last week |
